Google's captchas
For some reason, google has started thinking that my browser's startup page load request is similar to a virus or spyware request. My homepage is set of www.google.com/ig, so this is pretty annoying

A day with Opera 8.50
I spent a day using Opera 8.50. Some quick observations:
- Why is the default toolbar setup so crappy?
- After using for sometime, address bar below tabs actually looks good.
- How do I move Bookmarks onto menu-bar?
- Back and Forward are really zippy - faster than firefox
- Delete private data actually closes all-tabs!
- No adblock, of course.
- No NTLM Authentication - that kills it
- M2 totally sucks.Which moron claimed on mozillazine forums that Gmail got some of its ideas from M2?

Opera is lying
A few days back, mozillazine reported that Firefox has been named as product of the year by PC World. The 100 Best Products list also has Maxthon at #12, and Opera at #88.
Now head over to Opera.com where they're advertising that they've been awarded the 'best browser' award by PC world for '04 and '05.

iPod for hundred bucks?
This story suggests Apple might introduce a $100 iPod. Sounds very interesting. I'll buy it if its atleast 1GB (I dont care if its flash or a hard disk).

More ebay
The idiots did reply to my one line email - "May I know why my account has been suspended", with a 2 page email describing section 9 of their policy, and steps to get my account reinstated. In effect, they're asking me to sign a document saying that i've read section 9 and agree never to violate it in future, and to send an ID along with this document.
Wow! That's the most ridiculous stuff i've ever heard.
Its like saying - Dear Ebay, I dont know what i did, but since your majesty thinks i did something wrong, that must be the case. I bow before you and kiss your feet and request that my error be forgiven. I also promise to never do it again (even though i do not know what 'it' was)
Add to this the fact that i cannot talk to any human. The latest email looks like an automated response to me. I'll definitely stay away from their royal kingdom.

No Ebay for me
Today I created an account on ebay, trying to sell off that digital camera.
The item was listed.
I sent the item link to a friend.
He tells me it does not work.
I sign back on - "your account has been suspended, please resolve outstanding issues".
Check my email: There are two emails. One saying 'your auction was ended because your account was suspended'. The other saying 'we suspend your account in accordance with section 9 of agreement'.
No details whatsoever regarding what went wrong. No customer service phone number i could call and ask. I did reply back to the suspension email - no response as of now.
I'll probably stay away from them even if they come back tomorrow and say it was an error.
on a related note, no slashdot for me either.
I have bad karma after submitting three posts:
1st. I didnt know i had to post using html. It was left unrated at 1
2nd. Was moderated as funny +1. Score 2.
3rd. Was moderated as funny +4. Score 5.
If that amounts to Bad Karma... well, god help them, for they do not know what they are doing.
