Spreadfirefox spams

I know this will get me a lot of flak - but I'll still say it - spreadfirefox.com is now a spam site in my books.

I've received an email about firefox flicks from "Spread Firefox team"

Immediately, I log into spreadfirefox.com to uncheck any checkboxes I might have accidentaly checked allowing them to spam me. Unfortunately, there are none.

The 'unsubscribe' link in the mail is pointing to "mozilla.cmail1.com". How reassuring!

There's no way to cancel my spreadfirefox account. (Or atleast I can't spot one from "My Account")

Action Items: Let Gmail know this was spam, and blog about this hoping someone would care.

I've always been a skeptic of automatic updates, and have them turned off by default. During Firefox 1.0 timeframe, I had downloaded each one of 1.0 - 1.0.7. However, the update from 1.5 to 1.5.0.1 was flawless.

Adblock is back, and packs more punch than before!

A new official build (0.5 d3 nightly 40) of adblock is available at adblock.mozdev.org. This version is compatible with Firefox 1.5, and sports a new trick: it blocks ajax. This means you can use adblock to disable Gmail ads. Here's the filter you can use:

A day with Opera 8.50

I spent a day using Opera 8.50. Some quick observations:

Why is the default toolbar setup so crappy?

After using for sometime, address bar below tabs actually looks good.

How do I move Bookmarks onto menu-bar?

Back and Forward are really zippy - faster than firefox

Delete private data actually closes all-tabs!

No adblock, of course.

No NTLM Authentication - that kills it

M2 totally sucks.Which moron claimed on mozillazine forums that Gmail got some of its ideas from M2?
