Upgrading to Firefox 1.5 Beta - Take two!

Yesterday, I had upgraded to Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 on my main machine, with Profile Backup and adblock hacks. Today I tried a direct upgrade on another machien without any manual hacks.

My Steps:
  • Download Firefox 1.5 Beta 1, install it over 1.0.5
  • Start Firefox
  • It warns that Quicknote is not compatible - disable it
  • Everything else is perfect. Adblock was automatically deemed compatible!

Now, the other part about making quicknote compatible:

  • Download from http://mozilla.doslash.org/stuff/quicknote-dev.xpi
  • Extract the xpi using 7-zip, bump up maxversion, drop the modified install.rdf into 7-zip.
  • Voila, quicknote-dev.xpi is now compatible!

Again - no problems so far!
